After a long time I am finally ready to start a new photography project!
The last one didn’t evolve as I had expected it to, but I have learnt a lot from this experience and I’m ready to move on!
This time I want to explore how we see our bodies and create an ode to originality, self empowerment and body positivity.
The short and sweet version:
Who: As per usual, whoever wants to participate is more than welcome
Where: The photoshoots will take place in studio on a white bed
Why: To make a statement, to show that happiness comes from inside and that everyone should feel beautiful whether they fit in the conventional beauty standards or not.
Let me explain:
We are bombarded on a daily basis by images and videos telling us how we should look and act in order to be perceived as normal. These bombardments also try to tell us what is and is not acceptable, and how our appearance will determine our place in society.
I have known beautiful people who are unable to look at themselves in the mirror; hating everything that was making them unique. I have also known people who feel good about themselves and didn’t give a f@#k about their look because they feel great and don’t need any external confirmation of that.
I’m fascinated about how people project and perceive themselves and with this project I want to give everyone the opportunity to tell their story, express themselves and show everyone that you can feel comfortable in your own skin, without ever having to feel inadequate or ashamed.
Why a white bed?
When you live in London your personal space is reduced to the size of your bedroom and your bed is usually the place where you can relax and let go all the stress that life gives you. The idea is to create a safe environment where people can feel comfortable, where they can pose naturally and relax.
Should I be naked?
No. Most importantly, you don’t have to feel naked. You can wear as much or as little as you want, as long as you feel comfortable.
